The purpose of this series is to bring the past alive to the present generations as well as generations unborn. It is hoped that these stories will continue to be told to future generations yet unborn. Volume 1 contains what was previously Volumes I-V, individually published by Vaughn E. Whisker and reformatted by Closson Press. Original Volume I consists of interesting facts about the area’s folk lore and events of interest long forgotten. The second volume is stories about the Indians who inhabited this county, their foods, legends and artifacts as well as various phases of the county’s history. Volume III relates to Bedford County’s past history, the people and places that contributed to its history. The fourth volume includes diversified stories, historical facts, hobbies, and articles about nature. Volume V includes stories about the county’s history, its early settlers and the hardships they endured and the formation of its Civil subdivisions. No index.
