This publication is an index to delayed birth certificates that were issued by the Beaver County Courthouse. Delayed birth certificates were authorized by a law passed in the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1941 to provide a proof of birth for persons who were born prior to 1906 and who needed this information in order to apply for benefits under the Social Security Act.
The earliest birth record is 1872. There are over 5,000 names listed. Instructions for obtaining these certificates are included.
