Every-Name Index to the History of the Western Reserve

Every-Name Index to the History of the Western Reserve Author: Harriet Taylor Upton
This index is an index to the History of the Western Reserve as published by the Lewis Publishing Company in 1910 compiled by members of Lake County Genealogical Society in 1988. The work it indexes is a highly respected standard source of historical and biographical information for the Connecticut New Western Reserve which includes the current counties of Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Summit, Trumbull, and the northern townships of Ashland and Mahoning in Ohio. Harriet Taylor Upton, the author, tended to discuss the women more in this history than many contemporary authors did. It includes very satisfying descriptions of pioneer and later families and their lives. The three volume set itself has a limited index. Since the entire text of the work is now included in the Heritage Quest Online collection, this expanded index makes navigating either the print or digital copies very easy.
