Author: Suzanne R. (Kluck) Cromwell
After 22 years of family research, a book that goes back 4 generations with Peter Klock being the immigrant who came to the United States in 1834, is now available. All known information about Peter and his wife, Margaret (Deck) has been presented.
The book includes the many descendants of Peter and Margaret’s three adult sons – John, Jacob and Daniel – who lived in many towns around Franklin County including St. Thomas, Cheesetown, Lemasters, Mercersburg, Fayetteville, Williamson and Fort Loudon. Son John served in the last three months of the Civil War. Son Jacob was the first blacksmith in the town of Williamson. Son Daniel went to the Gettysburg Battlefield after that famous three-day battle to help bury the dead and returned with a sabre and rifle from a Northern General (in possession of his great grandson).
And more: Over 60 photographs, maps, church records, school records, census records, obituaries, city directories, land records, citizenship papers, tombstone pictures, Civil war papers and pension records and lineage charts.
