Warrantees are listed by county along with the number of acres and the date of warrant. Warrants were issued when land owned by the Penn family or later the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was turned over to private individuals. Volumes XXIV-XXVI were transcribed from the original Warrant Registers. Specific information on warrant number or book and page numbers of the survey or patent which would assist in locating the original records were not included in Volumes XXIV-XXVI and further research will be required. An introduction by Jonathan R. Stayer to this 3 volume set is included. His introduction describes the Land Warrant system and provides guidance on locating original records. Please note Donation Lands for Revolutionary War veterans were not a part of Volumes XXIV-XXVI of the Third Series of the Pennsylvania.
